Minor Premier Box Hill Inter secured its place in the 2010 Victorian Women’s Premier League Grand Final, while its vanquished opponent Heidelberg United will play Sandringham next weekend for the remaining place in the season decider. Sandringham defeated Ashburton 3-1 in the Elimination Final, with Inter overcoming United 4-2 in the Qualifying Final.
Plenty of drama in the penultimate round of the Victorian Women’s Premier League, with late goals deciding the outcome of all four matches. The minor premiership is yet to be determined after Heidelberg and Box Hill drew, but things look bleak for Preston Lions after it lost what was effectively the relegation decider against Altona City. Casey defeated Ashburton to keep its finals hopes alive, while South Melbourne and Sandringham shared the points.
